Police: 3 Pit Bulls Attack Man Walking With Daughter On Long Island
NEW CASSEL, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Two people have been arrested after three pit bulls attacked a man who was walking with his daughter on Long Island, police said.
The 44-year-old man and his daughter were walking on Maplewood Drive in New Cassel when the dogs came running at them from an open gate on Monday afternoon, police said.
The dogs bit the man on the arms, legs and torso as he shielded his child, police said.
A second victim, a 16-year-old boy, came out of his house after hearing the dogs barking and was bitten on the knee, police said.
Both victims fought off the dogs until two teenagers came out and took the animals back into the house, police said.
The teenagers have been charged with reckless endangerment.
The victims were taken to a local hospital for treatment. The child was not injured.
