Police: Off-Duty Cop Shoots Infant Son, Boyfriend And Herself In Brooklyn
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- An off-duty NYPD cop shot her boyfriend, her 1-year-old son and then herself in an apparent double murder-suicide Monday morning in Brooklyn, police said.
It happened in the first-floor apartment of a building on East 56th Street in East Flatbush.
The bodies were found after the woman's 19-year-old son heard an argument between the officer and her boyfriend, escaped out a window and called 911, police said.
When police arrived, they found the boyfriend's body in the doorway of the apartment. The bodies of the officer and her infant son were found on the bed, police said.

Family and property records identified the officer as 43-year-old Rosette Samuel, the Associated Press reported. She was a member of the 108th precinct in Queens for at least the past 13 years, police said.
Authorities identified the man as Dason Peters and the infant as Dylan, the AP reported. Peters is believed to be in his 30s and is the father of the baby boy, police said.
The teenager, who is the officer's son from a previous relationship, was uninjured.
"He ran for his life," said a neighbor and friend of the teen Saladine Bell.
Neighbors said they can't believe Samuel may have carried out the double murder-suicide.
"I was devastated. Right now, I'm shaking," one neighbor told WCBS 880's Monica Miller.

"There was no need to kill the baby," a man said.
Police said nothing in Samuel's records indicated she was troubled, Miller reported.
"I don't understand how the whole thing happened. I don't get it. It makes no sense to me," a friend of Samuel's 19-year-old son told Miller.
It's still not clear what prompted the dispute. Police are still investigating.
