Police: 2 Men Steal $60,000 From Lower East Side Whole Foods Market
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are looking for two men who allegedly stole $60,000 from a Whole Foods supermarket in Manhattan.
The incident happened around 10 p.m. Sunday at the Whole Foods on East Houston Street on the Lower East Side as employees were transporting the money by elevator from the first to the second floor.
When the elevator door opened, police said one of the suspects pointed a gun at the employees and ordered them to the ground while the second suspect tied a victim's hands behind his back.
The suspects fled with the money onto Chrystie Street.
