Plaza Hotel Unveils Brand New 'Eloise Suite'
NEW YORK (CBS 2) -- It's all part of the Plaza Hotel's $450 million renovation, and an attempt to appeal to children and their parents to visit the expensive hotel.
The Plaza's new "Eloise Suite" is every little girl's dream. The brand new suite is patterned from the classic book series and movie "Eloise at the Plaza."
The pink, white and black room was designed by Betsey Johnson. Johnson says she found her inspiration for the room from her grandchild.
"Act like your grandchildren...that's a good place to come from," Johnson said, "I have the best time with my 4-year-old." CBS 2's Megan Glaros spoke with Morgan Flotterson of Long Island, who gave her assessment of the suite.
"It's feels like you're in Hollywood," Flotterson said.
The room certainly isn't cheap. A suit runs about $995 per night and up to $2,045 if you include the adjoining suite for parents.
The Plaza Hotel started taking reservations for the "Eloise Suite" Thursday and officially opens on August 16.
