Plans Nixed For Lowe's In Huntington
HUNTINGTON, NY (WCBS 880) - A Lowe's home improvement store planned for Huntington, Long Island will no longer go forward, and neither will the jobs it would have created.

The company said that, because of the tough economy, they have decided not to continue to build the superstore on Jericho Turnpike.
That has left piles of dirt and rocks - and a lot of upset business owners.
The manager of a local 24 hour deli told WCBS 880's Sophia Hall the Lowe's would've spread the wealth bringing business to other retail stores in the area.
The Lowe's would have created up to 150 jobs.
Turan Wahabzadah, who owns nearby Mona Lisa Framing, said he was "shocked."
He said many business owners redid their stores in anticipation of the Lowe's opening up.
"It would have been good for the community," said Wahabzadah.
Hall is told Lowe's has put the property up for sale.
