Plane Crash-Lands With No Gear At Newark Airport
NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- It was a scary morning Saturday for passengers at Newark Liberty International Airport, as their plane made a crash landing.
During the 8 a.m. hour, the plane was hauled off the tarmac at the airport. The runway was closed for more than eight hours in all.

US Airways Express 4560, operated by Piedmont, reported malfunctions with its left main landing gear when approaching Newark from Philadelphia, officials said at 3:32 a.m. A US Airways spokesman said the pilot made the decision to come down on its belly, WCBS 880's Jim Smith reported.
The airline said the plane slid across the runway and sparks flew, but no fire was reported.
Firefighters spread the aircraft with foam as a precaution.

There were 31 passengers and three crewmembers onboard. No one was injured.
The National Transportation Safety Board will investigate.
