Pierre-Paul Listed As Active For Giants' Season Opener In Dallas
ARLINGTON, Texas (CBSNewYork/AP) — Dallas Cowboys defensive end Anthony Spencer is out for Sunday night's season opener against the New York Giants, who list pass-rushing playmaker Jason Pierre-Paul as active.
Spencer was inactive after missing the entire preseason following left knee surgery in late July. He aggravated an offseason injury in the conditioning test before training camp.
Pierre-Paul had surgery in June to repair a disk in his lower back. He returned to practice Aug. 26, but didn't play in a preseason game.
JPP was previously considered to be questionable for Sunday night.
Backup running back Lance Dunbar and special teams standout Danny McCray are inactive for Dallas, along with receiver Cole Beasley.
Guard David Diehl and center David Baas had already been ruled out by the Giants. Backup defensive linemen Damontre Moore and Johnathan Hankins also are inactive.
