Pepsi Bottler To Accept Incentives, Keep HQ In NY
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- PepsiCo Inc.'s bottling division said it will keep its headquarters and about 860 jobs in New York's Westchester County at least through 2015.
Pepsi Beverages Co. was taking advantage of millions of dollars in economic incentives from the county and the state to stay in Somers, N.Y.
Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino said Thursday that the company had been aggressively wooed by Connecticut.
He said the company will expand into the full 540,000 square feet of its building, from 390,000 square feet. It has an option to extend its lease for an another five years.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo issued a statement hailing the agreement and saying it illustrates New York's appeal to global corporations.
