Pedestrian Dies After Being Struck By Car On Long Island
HOLBROOK, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Suffolk County Police are investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian in Holbrook Saturday.
Police said Jose Santos was driving a 2008 Nissan west on Veterans Memorial Highway when he struck 22-year-old Patrick McCourt of Huntington, who was walking in the roadway at 5:30 a.m.
McCourt was then struck by a 2001 Ford, driven by Mehmet Altun.
Police said McCourt was pronounced dead at the scene. The two drivers were not injured.
Detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact the Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552.
