Patriots Fan Gives NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell Middle Finger In Picture
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- It's been a rough week for National Football League Commissioner Roger Goodell.
On Tuesday, someone hacked the NFL's Twitter account to report Goodell had died.
"We regret to inform our fans that our commissioner, Roger Goodell, has passed away. He was 57," the tweet read.
The hacker's tweet, which was retweeted over 2,000 times, was quickly removed, but the hacker apparently still had access to the account and sent out another tweet in response.
"Oi, I said Roger Goodell has died. Don't delete that tweet," the second one read.
While this was happening, a picture was making its rounds on social media where a New England Patriots fan posed for a picture with Goodell while giving him the middle finger.
Only In Boston posted the photo showing Jim Podanoffsky flipping Goodell the bird while they took a picture together at the Jim Kelly Golf Tournament in Batavia, New York.
"What happened when Patriots fan Jim Podanoffsky posed for a photo w/Goodell at the Jim Kelly Golf Tournament," Only In Boston tweeted.
Patriots fans apparently are still not happy with Goodell's role in the Deflategate case.
Goodell didn't comment on the finger but did joke about the tweet killing him off.
"Man you leave the office for 1 day of golf w/ (at)JimKelly1212 & your own network kills you off. (hashtag)harsh," he tweeted.
