Patriotism On Display At 9/11 Survivor Pasquale Buzzelli's River Vale Home
RIVER VALE, NJ (WCBS 880) - It's a patriotic picture in Bergen County - a gleaming white colonial with black shutters, cherry blossoms in bloom, a tricycle in the front yard, and nearly a dozen American flags flying from trees and the house itself.

There are even red, white, and blue balloons tied to the mailbox.
The house belongs to Pasquale Buzzelli, a Port Authority engineer who was in a stairwell on the 22nd floor of the north tower when it collapsed on 9/11.
Miraculously, he survived as the tower fell around him.
His River Vale home's patriotism is thanks to his neighbors and friends.

On Monday, the day after Osama Bin Laden was killed by a Navy SEAL team in Pakistan, friends threw him a little get together.
"They came here and they just decorated the whole front of the house with flags, just to, as they would say, to celebrate that I'm alive and that we're all good friends and, you know, supporting each other and stuff. And, as my other friend Chris said, that justice was served," Buzzelli told WCBS 880 reporter Sean Adams.
It reminded him of what it was like when he returned home after surviving the attack.
"My wife was here and there were a lot of people here that were supporting her. You know, they were here supporting her because they thought I had died that day," he said. "It's such a great feeling, you know, that unity. That was the one, you know, positive thing that came out of it and you wish you could feel like that, you know, all the time.
Nearly ten years later, the blessing of Buzzelli's survival has not been forgotten, and he is most thankful.
