16-Year-Old Boy Killed In Paterson Hit-And-Run
PATERSON, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- Police are looking for the driver in a fatal hit-and-run in Paterson, New Jersey.
As CBS2's Dave Carlin reported, surveillance video obtained exclusively by CBS2 captured the last moments of Javier Bugo's life.
The 16-year-old boy was riding his bike when he was clipped by a car at Beech and Oak streets around 7 p.m. Monday, 1010 WINS' Glenn Schuck reported.
"He was hanging out the whole day yesterday here...right in front of my store," said deli owner Nelson Flores.
"I just heard the bang and the car leaving fast," said witness Razieo Garcia.
Bugo was rushed to St. Joesph's Regional Medical Center, where he died.

The car involved in the incident was found and now police are looking for the driver, officials said.
The teen's grandmother, Gloria Galan, said Bugo was bright, energetic, and popular. He attended Paterson's Eastside High and helped fix cars at an auto body shop.
"It's very hard for the family," she said. "A nice kid, very funny. He has a lot of friends."
"It's a terrible incident," said Wilfredo, who lives near the scene. "People gotta be more careful when they drive."
Police are looking at footage from surveillance cameras from a grocery and a deli near the scene, Schuck reported.
Neighbors said too many drivers take it too fast and they want that to change.
"A lot of people come down here, they don't care, they speed, they just blow horn and that's it," said Paterson community activist Luis Valez.
Valez said speed bumps should be installed on Beech Street.
"We got kids all summer playing on the street. They need to be more careful and responsible and make this person accountable of what he did," he said.
The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office Vehicular Homicide Unit is leading the investigation.
