Parts Of Southern, Central New Jersey Hit Hard By Snow
SEA BRIGHT, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Southern New Jersey was largely spared by snow in winter storms earlier this season, but it was hit the hardest on Tuesday.
Southern New Jersey was expected to get anywhere from 4 to 8 inches of snow while other parts of the state were set to see 3 to 6 inches. By early Tuesday morning, Green Creek in Cape May County had 5.5 inches and Mount Laurel had 6.

The town of Sea Bright looked like a winter wonderland, but not everyone was enjoying the view. One of the big complaints was how quickly the snow stuck to the cold pavement.
"It's light and fluffy and well, it's kind of a pain in the neck," resident David Van Vliet told CBS2's Diane Macedo.
In some parts, conditions were so bad schools opened late or were closed. State offices also delayed opening til 11 a.m., but for many it was a work day like any other.
"Right now, I'm worried about people shoveling their sidewalks," Atlantic Highlands resident Kevin Moran said.
New Jersey Residents Deal With Snow
In central New Jersey, the snow created a mess for many residents.
"Oh my God again -- it's never going to end," Edison resident Jennifer Sturak told CBS2's Ilana Gold. "I have about 4 feet of ice in my backyard. I'm done with this."
Willie Karmazsin spent his morning shoveling 4 inches of snow off his mother's driveway on Fay Street in Edison.
"I'm used to the West coast, I'm not used to shoveling snow," he said. "It was fine at first, but it's becoming a little bit of a chore."
Others were fed up with this winter weather and the constant cleanup.
"Another day of shoveling," said Fords resident Nino Covino. "Here we go again, trying to get to work."
Meanwhile, commuters in northern New Jersey faced slippery conditions Tuesday morning.
"You slide all over the place," one man in Carteret told 1010 WINS' Rebecca Granet. "I fell a few times, like three times I fell this morning."
NJ TRANSIT is cross-honoring tickets.
The National Weather Service says extremely cold temperatures will return, with lows Thursday below 0 in some areas.
