Palestinian Supporters Hold Anti-Israel Demonstration In Times Square
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Palestinian groups and supporters held a rally in Times Square Sunday afternoon to protest Israeli strikes on Gaza.
The demonstration came as rocket fire from both sides continued Sunday, CBS 2's Amy Dardashtian reported.
Israel claims to have intercepted two rockets fired from the Gaza Strip headed for Tel Aviv, including one on Sunday.
Israeli officials said the Iron Dome defense system has intercepted about 250 rockets from Gaza out of hundreds fired over the past week.

One rocket was not blocked on Saturday and hit a building in southern Israel.
Israel fired back on Sunday, striking two media centers in the Gaza Strip.
The new attacks by both sides came just hours after Arab League leaders arrived in Egypt to back a truce.
"Egypt's trying to broker a ceasefire here. They want the violence. They also want to demonstrate that they can serve as a regional power, they can bring peace," said CBS News Senior National Security Analyst Juan Zarate said.
The Israeli military is poised for an invasion near the Gaza border, with 75,000 reservists on standby. On Sunday, Israel vowed to expand its offensive and assassinate Hamas leaders.
"We are determined to continue with this operation until we will bring some peace and quiet and normality to three million Israelis which are currently under immediate rocket danger," Israeli Army spokesperson Avital Leibovich said.
Hamas militants report that more than 40 Palestinians have been killed in the violence. Three Israelis have been killed in the attacks, Dardashtian reported.
In New York, the NYPD has beefed up security outside all synagogues and the Israeli consulate despite no specific threats.
