Paladino, Cuomo Downplay Polls This Election
NEW YORK (CBS 2 / WCBS 880) -- Campaign 2010 will soon be over.
In the race for governor of New York, Democrat Andrew Cuomo holds a commanding lead in the polls over Republican Carl Paladino. The latest Siena poll shows cuomo with 58-percent of likely voters compared to 33-percent who say they will vote for Paladino.

Both candidates downplayed the polls Sunday - Cuomo at a campaign stop on the Upper West Side, and Paladino at a rally in Yonkers.
"How many times have we heard that the polls, that someone is way ahead in the polls and they wind up losing? This is a very uncertain political time and I wouldn't want to take anything for granted," Cuomo said.
Paladino said the polls have it wrong, just as they did when they predicted he would lose to Rick Lazio in the Republican primary.
"They don't deserve to be out there pontificating about who they think is going to win because there is no factual basis for it. They can not judge the turnout and the turnout is going to be wild this year," he said.
Paladino will spend the last day before Election Day reaching out to voters in upstate cities like Rochester and his native Buffalo.
