Brooklyn Jewelry Store Owner Stable After Armed Robbery, Shooting
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The NYPD is asking for the public's help in finding two men suspected of an armed robbery at a Brooklyn jewelry store.
Police said the pair entered the store at 93 Nassau Avenue around 12:48 p.m. Monday. The first suspect drew a black revolver while the second jumped over the counter to remove jewelry from the displays.
Store owner Richard Sanocki was shot during the robbery, 1010 WINS' Sonia Rincon reported. He was taken to Bellevue Hospital with a single gunshot wound to the shoulder. He is listed in stable condition.
"He got shot, they robbed the store and they bounced…that's all we know," his son David Sanocki said.
Police said both suspects were last seen exiting the store and crossing the street, headed eastbound on Nassau Avenue.
The first suspect is described as between 35 and 45-years-old, standing nearly six feet tall with a medium build, dark skin, and a mustache. He was last seen wearing a light-colored cap, glasses, sweat pants, and with a black firearm.
The other suspect has similar traits, but was last seen wearing a light blue polo shirt, dark pants, eye glasses, and gloves.
