Owner Laments Morning Robbery Of His Bronx Bodega
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are looking for two suspects who robbed a Bronx bodega Wednesday morning and could be responsible for seven other store heists since January.
Owner Fernando Delarosa said it was not the first time his small grocery store at 138 E. 174th Street in Mount Hope was robbed. He said the danger of being targeted came with the territory of owning a bodega, but admitted it was the first time he had stared down the barrel of a shot gun.
"That is something scary...when somebody point a shot gun at you. He can, you know, fire by mistake," Delarosa told 1010 WINS' Al Jones.

While no one was hurt in the incident that took place around 2 a.m., the suspects were able to get away with cash, cigarettes, and phone cards.
Delarosa said similar incidents have been "happening a lot lately" in the Bronx.
"They just come..with guns, with shotguns and handgun, demand the money," he said.
Authorities believe the two men involved could be the suspects wanted in a string of other robberies since January 2011.
A frustrated Delarosa told Jones he hopes police "catch those guys" soon.
"Working like that, working all day to just somebody come and take your money like that, it's crazy," he said.
