Over Height Tractor-Trailer Gets Stuck, Causes Major Delays At Lincoln Tunnel
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- All lanes of the Lincoln Tunnel have been reopened after a disabled tractor-trailer caused major delays Monday morning.
CHECK: Traffic | Listen: 1010 WINS | WCBS 880
Around 9:30 a.m., an over height tractor-trailer tried to drive into the New Jersey-bound north tube of the tunnel when it hit the top of the entrance and became stuck.
It took crews about two hours to remove the wedged truck from the tunnel entrance and all traffic except for buses was being diverted to the Holland Tunnel.
Just before 11:30 a.m., all lanes reopened, but there are still residual delays of 45 to 60 minutes.
Drivers should also expect extensive delays around the tunnel.
