NYPD: Ottoman, Other Items Taken During Bronx Home Invasion

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are looking for two men who they said are wanted for stealing an ottoman and other items during a home invasion in the Bronx.

It happened around 10:40 p.m. on May 8 at a building on Morris Avenue.

Police said two men followed a 43-year-old man to his apartment and forced their way inside after he unlocked the door. Once inside, they pulled out a gun and a knife and demanded money and jewelry.

The two then "used physical force" against the victim and his wife in front of their 4-year-old son, police said.

The suspects finally ran off with cell phones, jewelry and cash, police said. One of the suspects is also seen on surveillance video running from the victims' apartment carrying an ottoman, police said.

The two fled in a black Acura TL with a New York license plate, police said. The victims were not seriously hurt.

Police describe the first suspect as a black man, about 6-feet-tall and weighing 200 pounds. He was seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and was armed with a gun, police said.

The second suspect is described as a Hispanic man, also about 6-feet-tall. He was seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and was armed with a knife, police said.
