One Person Dead, 3 Injured In Crash On Long Island Expressway
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- One person has been killed and three others injured in an early morning crash on the Long Island Expressway.
The accident occurred near the 108th Street exit around 4 a.m. Wednesday when the 39-year-old driver of a 2003 Ford Explorer struck the median, police said.
The front seat passenger, identified as 27-year-old Carlos Rivas, suffered severe trauma to the body and died at Booth Memorial Hospital.
Three other passengers in the back seat were injured. They were taken to Elmhurst General Hospital in stable condition.
The driver, identified as Ricardo Rivas, has been charged with vehicular manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide and driving while intoxicated.
