One Bite Pizza Festival takes over Randall's Island
NEW YORK - Pizza lovers from all over the Tri-State Area are descending on Randall's Island Saturday for the One Bite Pizza Festival.
Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy has been doing pizza reviews across the country for years.
Saturday's festival is expected to accommodate 10,000 fans, and feature 35 of the country's highest reviewed pizzerias.
"I spent the last year perfecting this festival recipe with my team and after touring America and reviewing thousands of pizzerias, I am gathering 35 of my all-time favorite pizzerias in one place and one time," Portnoy said.
Portnoy says the proceeds from the event will go to Santillo's Brick Oven Pizza in Elizabeth, N.J. The century old community staple was badly damaged in a fire back in January.
Portnoy visited Santillo's for a One Bite Pizza Review back in 2019, and gave it an 8.3.
Pizzamakers at Saturday's event include Lucali, Sally's Apizza, John's of Bleecker, Di Fara, Frank Pepe and many more.
