Once-Idyllic Jersey Shore Now A Stressful Place To Live Post-Sandy
BRICK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- The aftermath of Superstorm Sandy is being felt beyond the bricks and mortar, as the serenity at the Jersey Shore has been replaced by stress.
As WCBS 880's Peter Haskell reported, many residents were drawn to the area because of the hypnotic beauty of the ocean. But since Sandy, that feeling has changed.

"It's very different," said Anthony Esposito, who lives on the barrier island in Brick Township. "It's a lot quieter."
Esposito said living in the area these days is a challenge.
"It's hard now," he said. "It's very difficult, because our environment has been so disrupted and destroyed that the beauty of it has really been taken away, for at least temporarily."
He is particularly worried about the recently-narrowed beach.
"I stayed during Superstorm Sandy and I'm still standing here, so I'll be here," Esposito said. "I'm not leaving, no."
Most of the houses on the barrier island are still vacant due to Sandy, Haskell reported.
