Ihedigbo On WFAN: Jets' Defense Nearly 'Dominating'
NEW YORK (WFAN) - Jets DB James Ihedigbo joined Boomer & Carton Thursday to preview Sunday's match-up against the 4-5 Houston Texans.
First, Ihedigbo breaks down Week 10's cardiac win against the Cleveland Browns.
"Hats off to Colt McCoy being a rookie and being able to play the way he did," said Ihedigbo. "Corrections have been made. That's what we went in on Monday for, to watch the tape... We learned from it, we got the win, which is most important, and now we get to show it off again this weekend."
On the Jets' 2010 defense:
"We're right at the tip of the iceberg. We're 1 or 2 series away from being that lights-out, dominating defense that can control football games," Ihedigbo said. "We're looking to present that this weekend."
On the Texans' high-octane offense:
"This is a team that can pass the ball, run the ball, they have great tight end play. They're definitely lights-out on offense. I'm glad we have Darrelle Revis to take care of Andre Johnson," said the Jets defensive back.
"It's going to be a fun game. What better opponent than this to literally shut down."
On playing the Cincinnati Bengals on Thanksgiving:
"With the short turnaround, you've really just got to take care of your body, make sure guys are getting rest," Ihedigbo said. "Its going to be fun. We're up to the challenge, and it's a great opportunity for us."
Ihedigbo's 'Dinner with the Jets' will take place on December 13th. Jets players will be serving dinner and participating in a Q & A session hosted by WFAN's Sweeny Murti. The dinner will benefit HOPE Africa and the Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Hudson Valley. Click here for more information.
