On The FAN: Jets' Cotchery and Giants' Rolle
NEW YORK (WFAN/AP) -- New York Jets wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery joined Joe Benigno & Evan Roberts Tuesday to discuss Monday night's prime-time win over Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings.
"We're a very resilient bunch," Cotchery said. "We knew that the Vikings were a tough team. We were just going to fight until the end to get a victory."
Inclement weather delayed the start of Monday's game twice. The game, originally scheduled for 8:30 p.m., was delayed at first by 20 minutes and then again until 9:15. The Jets played under heavy rainfall throughout parts of the game.
"It was tough," said the Jets' receiver. "For one, the footballs are very heavy. It affects your psyche a little bit."
Joining Cotchery on-field for the first time Monday was Santonio Holmes.
Holmes played his first game with the Jets after being suspended the first four for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy. He finished with three catches for 41 yards.
"I think he did well coming back considering the circumstances," said Cotchery. "He did a great job of stepping up, moving those chains up for us."
Afterward, Giants safety Antrel Rolle joined Benigno & Roberts to recap a surprising blowout win against the Houston Texans.
Rolle credited the Giants' recent success to talent, preparation, hard work, discipline and players finally having fun when things come together.
"We've been going out there and having fun," Rolle said. "That's the name of the game."
Rolle, along with Terrell Thomas, led the Giants with 5 tackles against the high-octane Texans offense.
"I thought I played a pretty good game," said Big Blue's safety. "Everything was good, the game plan was excellent, and [the coaches] put me in position to make plays."
