Officials: Newark Airport Worker Shot To Death During Apparent Attempted Robbery
NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- An airport employee was shot to death during an apparent attempted robbery while coming home from work Tuesday night, officials said.
A passerby found Bruce Santos, 26, shot around 10 p.m. near Broad and Camp Streets in Newark, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray and Newark Police Director Samuel A. DeMaio said in a press release.
The passerby flagged down a police cruiser and Santos was taken to University Hospital where he died.
A preliminary investigation indicates Santos was coming home from work at Newark Liberty International Airport when he was shot, officials said.
The investigation is ongoing.
