Officials: Investigation Revealed Specific Threat Against N.J. School
WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- A student at a Jersey Shore middle school will likely face charges in connection with an alleged plot against his fellow students.
Forty students at a Wall Township school were apparently named as targets on a computer file found on the boy's computer, according to a letter sent to parents of students of Wall Public Schools.
"The investigation continued and recent discoveries revealed more specific information. The results of computer forensic examination revealed approximately 40 first names of students that appeared on a list," the letter said.

The threat apparently named specific staff, students, and weapons and appeared to be influenced by the mass shooting at Columbine and Newtown.
Authorities began investigating the boy in April after being warned about a general threat made by a fifth grade student at Central School. A forensic examination of the boy's computer revealed the list, authorities told 1010 WINS' Sonia Rincon.
Authorities said that the plot was caught while it was in the fantasy stage and that the boy was not ready to execute the attack.
"They were more fantasy than reality and the extent of the resources and materials that he would need to carry out the plan out were beyond his means to procure at this time," explained Wall Police Chief Robert Brice.
The student would have started middle school this week but was removed from the school and officials believe that the danger has passed.
"I feel that our children are safe now and will continue to be as long as we all work together," Superintendent Stephanie Bilenker said.
Parents in the district were notified. The boy's name has not been disclosed. The investigation is ongoing. Juvenile charges are anticipated, officials said.
