Officials Hope To Have Jones Beach And Robert Moses Ready For Memorial Day
WANTAGH, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) - Jones Beach and Robert Moses State Parks took a beating from superstorm Sandy, but there may be light at the end of the tunnel.
The goal is to make them look like Sandy was never there and never damaged the boardwalks, the beaches, or the lifeguard stands.
The State Parks Department said this will all be done naturally and by the Memorial Day weekend.

Other problems are the Robert Moses traffic circle and Ocean Parkway, which were ripped apart and left in pieces in some places.
The DOT said the roadways will be fixed by May.
Officials told WCBS 880 reporter Sophia Hall that the beach is pretty much gone at Robert Moses. So, 500,000 cubic yards of sand will be added.
