Officials: Firing At Board Of Elections Won't Affect Midterm
NEW YORK (CBS 2 / WCBS 880) -- The crucial midterm elections are just six days away but the New York City Board of Elections was without a chief Wednesday.

The Board's commissioners voted out Executive Director George Gonzalez on Tuesday. The firing came after a series of problems with a new computerized voting system and the ballots prepared for the general election.
Gonzalez had only been on the job for three months.
Election officials insisted his departure will have no impact on next Tuesday's election, however.
