Officials: Death Of 19-Year-Old Struck By NJ Transit Train Ruled Suicide
SPRING LAKE, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Authorities have ruled the death of a 19-year-old whose car was struck by an NJ Transit train a suicide.
Witnesses told police Lily Seegobin weaved around the lowered railroad gates at a crossing in Spring Lake Saturday night.
Friends told the Asbury Park Press a recent romantic breakup and an unhappy freshman year at Rutgers University may have driven the Point Pleasant resident to end her life.
The native of Trinidad and Tobago was a freshman at Rutgers' business school in Newark.
Her death was the second involving a NJ Transit North Jersey Coast Line train this month.
A woman was injured by a train in Asbury Park on Tuesday and a hearing-impaired boy sustained arm and hand injuries when he was hit in Long Branch on April 4.
