Officials: 72-Year-Old Man Hit, Killed By NJ TRANSIT Bus In Newark
NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- Authorities in Newark are investigating after a 72-year-old man was hit and killed by New Jersey TRANSIT bus Tuesday morning.
It happened around 9 a.m. near Clinton Avenue and Astor Street.
Raul E. Medina was walking when he was struck by the bus that was headed eastbound on Clinton Avenue, according to officials. The bus did not initially stop because the driver may not have known that anyone was hit, authorities said.
Medina was pronounced dead at the scene.
The bus was eventually stopped and so far, no charges have been filed. The investigation is still ongoing.
