Officials: 3 Fires Set In 1 Hour At Bank Of America ATM Vestibule In Greenwich Village
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police and firefighters are trying to determine who is responsible for setting fires inside a Bank of America ATM vestibule in Manhattan.
Three fires were set between approximately 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the vestibule at Sixth Avenue and Waverly Place in Greenwich Village, according to officials.
FDNY Battalion Chief Phil Solimeo said outside materials, such as cardboard, were used to set the fires.

Firefighters first found cardboard burning at the location and returned a few minutes later to find trash on fire, WCBS 880's Alex Silverman reported. In the third incident, some flattened boxes were found charred.
Solimeo said there were no injuries or structural damage.
Police are now guarding the entrance to the vestibule.
Witnesses took pictures of the suspect. The man appeared to be emotionally disturbed, according to a source.
"We do have some eyewitness accounts and we're following up with the fire marshals to determine who did it and who can be apprehended," Solimeo said.
The investigation is ongoing.
