Official: 1 Frenchman Arrested In 'Advanced Stages' Of Terrorist Attack
PARIS (CBSNewYork/AP)-- One Frenchman has been arrested in the "advanced stages" of a terrorist attack on the country, France's interior minister said Thursday.
Bernard Cazeneuve said there were no links "at this stage'' between the plan and the attacks in Paris or Brussels.
Cazeneuve said bomb squads were on site. The raid took place in Argenteuil, on the northern outskirts of the French capital.
He noted that the person arrested was implicated at a "high level'' in the plot, but offered no details.
People around the world are declaring solidarity with Brussels after three bombing attacks left dozens dead and more than 100 injured in the Belgian capital.
In the middle of a busy morning rush hour, two explosions hit the Brussels Airport at Zaventem and a third struck in the city's Maelbeek metro station, which is near the U.S. Embassy and European Union headquarters.
In November, the world felt heartache and disbelief after attacks in Paris left at least 129 people dead following terror plots at a Paris concert hall, restaurant, bar outside the city, and stadium.
This is a developing story. Please check back for updates.
