Officers Save Woman From Oncoming LIRR Train In Bay Shore
BAY SHORE, NY (CBSNewYork) -- Suffolk County police are crediting two of their own for saving a woman's life after her car got stuck in the path of an oncoming train in Bay Shore.

Cops say a woman was driving on Brentwood Road around 5 p.m. Friday when she accidentally turned onto Long Island Rail Road tracks near Union Boulevard and got stuck.
That's when two police officers, Christopher Palazzo and Jereme Matthews, rushed to the scene and called the MTA to try to stop a fast-moving train that was quickly approaching.
But the train was too close, and risking their lives, the officers pulled the woman from her car. Moments later, the train slammed into the car, throwing it across the tracks.
Luckily, no one was hurt but the driver was later arrested by MTA police for driving under the influence.
