Off-Duty NYPD Officer Arrested, Charged With Driving Drunk
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- An off-duty New York City police officer has been charged with driving drunk after fleeing an accident.
The NYPD said Officer Christian Rehpani-Jimenez, 29, was arrested in the Bushwick section of Brooklyn around 6:25 a.m. Friday.
He was charged with leaving driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of an accident, and refusing to take a breathalyzer test.
Rehpani-Jimenez, who was assigned to a Brooklyn North precinct, fled the scene after hitting the back of a parked car, the New York Post reported. He was apprehended a short time later, the newspaper reported.
