Obama, Bloomberg Discuss Mayor's Future At White House Lunch
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and President Barack Obama met last month at the White House, reportedly to discuss the mayor's future.

It was a private lunch, and the mayor provided few details.
"He was very interested in what's going on in New York City, and what we need from the federal government to continue to grow, and then we, you know, a little bit of conversation about golf," said Bloomberg on Monday. "But it was a very pleasant lunch."
A White House spokesman says they didn't discuss the election, but The New York Times reports the mayor and President talked about education, immigration, and the federal deficit. It also reported that they also talked about the mayor's future.
Is he interested in being an economic advisor to the President?
"Uh, no," he said Monday. "There's no reason... why I should be or anybody would care."
The lunch invite was striking as the mayor and President don't always see eye-to-eye. Bloomberg has been critical of the administration's treatment of U.S. business leaders.
Pressed for details about the lunch, Bloomberg made reference to his New Year's Eve liplock.
"Would the answer that, what did I talk to Lady Gaga, I never kiss and tell work?" he said. "I did not kiss President Obama."
