NYPD Searching For Suspects Accused Of Stabbing Deli Worker, Robbing Brooklyn Bodega
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - A Brooklyn bodega worker was rushed to the hospital Thursday after being stabbed in the neck by one of two armed suspects, who are still on the run.
It happened at the Friendship Deli on Bradford Street in East New York.
Anwar Hossain says the victim is his 44-year-old brother-in-law, Jashim Uddin.
"I feel very unsafe. I feel very afraid," Hossain said.
Hossain tells CBS2 Uddin was behind the counter when a man and woman walked in just before 3 p.m.
According to police, one of the suspects pulled out a knife and stabbed Uddin multiple times in the neck.

Hossain says he heard the assault while he was upstairs.
"He was, like, saying my wife's name. 'Jahoga, come down, Jahoga, come down,'" he said. "When we come to the store, we saw he was bleeding. He was stabbed seven, eight times in his neck."
Investigators say the suspects then stole cash out of the register before taking off.
Uddin's brother told CBS2's Cory James one of the suspects is a frequent customer who has targeted the bodega before.
"The guy, he came a couple times in the store, and he was, like, you know, taking stuff from the store and demanding money," Shahed Uddin said. "My brother talk to the guy's family, and family said, 'OK, he's not going to do that anymore.'"
Now, gates to the local deli are closed, leaving family members with many questions for the attacker who brutally stabbed their loved one and left him for dead.
"I just have to say, why you did that? Why you did that?" Hossain said. "You come to this store regularly, why you did this to this person?"
While there are security cameras outside of the bodega, police have been searching the area trying to get clear video to help identify the suspects.
Family members say Jashim Uddin, a father of three, was taken to Brookdale Hospital. He was last reported to be in critical but stable condition.
