NYPD: Man Shot After Pulling Gun On Officer In Brooklyn
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Police said an officer shot and wounded a man who pulled a gun on him during a chase in Brooklyn on Friday.
The NYPD said the uniformed officers were on patrol when they saw two men banging on a lobby vestibule door at the Cypress Hills housing complex, so they stopped to see what was going on.
Police said one of the men began running through the complex as an officer got out of the car, and the officer ran after him.
Police said the 19-year-old man then turned toward the officer on foot and pointed a semi-automatic handgun at him. The officer fired and hit him in the left buttock.
Police said the suspect is hospitalized in stable condition. The officer was treated for tinnitus.
