NYPD Investigating After Swastikas Found On Van, Light Pole In Brooklyn
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- For the second time in less than a week, the NYPD's Hate Crime Task Force is investigating a case of anti-Semitism in Brooklyn.
A van and a light pole were sprayed with swastikas on East Second Street in Kensington, police said. The discovery came just days after swastikas were found on six separate locations in nearby Borough Park.
"Once again a Brooklyn neighborhood has been defaced with swastikas," borough president Scott Stringer said in a statement. "We must never forget that our City was built on the concept of diversity, and every time a crime like this takes place, we must speak out affirmatively in support of our proud heritage."
In Borough Park, a synagogue and five other buildings were defaced on Friday. One of the suspects was seen on surveillance video.
A $1,000 reward is being offered in that case.
