When you think "Cinco de Mayo" the first thought in your mind may not be mussels, but let Flex change your mind! Offering "Fiesta Mussels" for Cinco de Mayo only, the dish boasts a confetti of bright peppers with tequila-infused broth, sweet shrimp and bell peppers, lime and jalapeno, serrano peppers. They're also offering a dessert of margarita-custard filled donuts. Yum!

Maya's Mexican Fiesta will put you in the right mood to celebrate: live mariachis from 6pm-10pm; handcrafted margaritas and Mexican small plates at the Tequila Bar, starting at 3pm; and a special 3 course menu in the main dining room for $50.

Barbecue and Cinco de Mayo go hand in hand - right? Try the Muy Caliente Margarita ($11), Habanero infused tequila the guest of honor, with fresh grapefruit and lime juice holding the train, or go straight to beer with $30 buckets of Mexican beer - two Negro Modelos, two Pacificos and two Coronas. In terms of food - try the shrimp relleno, or enchiladas de pollo, and cap it all off with flan de abuela - just like grandma's.

In the botaneria, there will be an all night happy hour from 5pm- close with $6 margaritas & cocktails, and $4 cervezas. In the dining room proper (pictured), a five course Cinco de Mayo menu will be offered for $50 per guest, or $75 with cocktail/wine pairings. Call for reservations.

This Mexican-themed food truck festival takes place at Pier 16 at the South Street Seaport on Saturday, May 5th from 12pm-7pm. Trucks will be pay as you go, and each vendor will showcase their skills by infusing Mexican flavor into one of their regular menu items. Trucks scheduled to attend are Luke's Lobster, Treats Truck, Kimchi Taco, Coolhaus, Frites'n'Meats, Gorilla Cheese, Schnitzel & Things, Wafels & Dinges, Taim Mobile, Milk Truck, Kelvin Slush, Souvlaki GR, Mexico Blvd, Eddie's Pizza and Big D's Grub Truck. A regular ticket for $5 gets you a sombrero and a ticket voucher that can be redeemed for 1 Beer, 1 Margarita, 1 Shot of Tequila, 1 Michelada or 2 Tacos. (Vouchers will cost $8 at the event and are not redeemable for food truck items.)
