NYC's 3 Best Date-Worthy Sports Bars

Sports bars aren't exactly known for ambiance, unless your definition of ambiance includes the scent of chicken wings mixed with testosterone. Want to catch the game without compromising date night? Catch the NFL playoffs at one of these upscale NYC sports bars. By Selena Ricks-Good.

The Windsor

With its white French window exterior, you could easily confuse The Windsor for another West Village bistro--and you wouldn't be too wrong for thinking that. Although The Windsor is in fact a sports bar with flatscreens throughout, including at individual red booths, the restaurant churns out high-end snacks such as tuna tartar and truffle grilled cheese. Drinking options range from draft beer such as Spaten Oktoberfest to cocktails such as The Half Windsor (Hendricks Gin, Japanese yuzu limes, cucumber juice and a rose water spritz).

The Ainsworth

122 W. 26th St.
New York, NY

This 6,000-square-foot sports bar brings a fresh concept to Chelsea nightlife with its rustic-luxe decor. Antique pine walls and dark brown seating provide a handsome setting for soaking up the scores on more than 40 flatscreens. Munch on goat-cheese-stuffed lamb burgers and lobster roll sliders while you sip pitchers of beer or cocktails such as the pomegranate margarita. And if you're still craving hot wings, you can get those here too.

Legends

6 W. 33rd St.
New York, NY
(212) 967-7792

While this massive three-level Irish pub is outfitted ornately with dark pine, iron railings, vaulted ceilings and a white-napkin dining area, the plasma TVs throughout are fully dedicated to sports viewing. Pull up a stool at the 60-foot-long bar for domestic and imported brews, wine or cocktails. The international crowd has caught onto this spot as well, so don't be surprised if you see some European football mixed in with the American version.
