4/9 CBS2 Saturday Afternoon Weather Headlines

Good afternoon, and a chilly one at that! The calendar may say April, but it's feeling more like February out there. We have some rain and wet snow making its way through the region, especially for those south and west of NYC. Any accumulations look to be on the light side, with a trace to an inch or so for the city and the highest amounts south and west, where 1-2" may fall. Temps are marginal, so roadways will stay mainly wet.
This system pulls away later this evening and another shot of cold air ushers in behind it. Winds pick up tonight, gusting to 30 mph at times. Freeze Warnings are posted for some overnight as temps drop below freezing. After a cold morning, sunshine returns for the second half of the weekend. It stays cold though, with highs in the upper 40s.
Some showers are possible to start the work week, but the better bet for rain will arrive on Tuesday as a front slowly makes its way across the area. Temps warm a little bit into the upper 50s. Clearing skies by midweek as temps return to near normal.
Hopefully this is winter's final bow! Have a good one!
