NYC To Make Another Convention Pitch As DNC Chairwoman Visits Friday
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- New York City will try to impress the chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee on Friday.
New York City is vying to bring the 2016 Democratic National Convention to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
The 119 members of the powerful and, for the most part, deep-pocketed host committee will lead the way when DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz visits.

Laura Santucci, Mayor Bill de Blasio's chief of staff, said the city, if chosen, must raise $100 million to pay for the convention.
"That money goes to production costs that would be dedicated to producing a weeklong event for the convention at the Barclays arena in Brooklyn," Santucci told WCBS 880's Rich Lamb.
The city already has $6.5 million in the bank and $20 million in pledges.
Santucci said among the city's advantages are its 100,000 hotel rooms, a strong transit system and an unequaled police department.
The New York host committee includes such business heavyweights as Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd Blankfein, Xerox CEO Ursula Burns, American Express CEO Kenneth Chenault and Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour.
Philadelphia and Columbus, Ohio, are also in the running to host the convention.
