Sunny Thursday in NYC ahead of snow and rain showers
Thursday starts off beautifully, but we have some interesting changes coming our way.
We're in for a generally sunny day with some clouds from time to time — certainly nothing to fret about. Temperature-wise, it will be a cooler day, but even so, temperatures will remain at or slightly above normal.
Friday's a First Alert Weather Day, as we're anticipating rain and snow showers to develop. They won't have a major impact, however, the afternoon commute could be a little messy with falling snow and perhaps some light accumulations north and west.
The snow showers and light snow will linger into Saturday morning before sunshine makes a comeback in the afternoon. When all is said and done, the area will pick up anywhere from a trace to 2".
After that, it's all about the cold, with temperatures below freezing Saturday afternoon and Sunday. And to add insult to injury, it will never feel like it, with wind chills stuck in the 20s and teens, respectively.
Then, as we look ahead to Christmas — you guessed it — we've got another pattern change on the way.
