6/4 CBS2 Saturday Evening Weather Headlines

By Mark McIntyre, CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Good evening folks! It was much warmer than yesterday with temps into the 80s -- but now we're talking about thunderstorms! Expect a few passing showers and storms, especially overnight, so be careful if you're out and about. It'll be mild and muggy with temps in the mid 60s.

Better bet for storms will be tomorrow -- in fact, some could be strong to possibly severe! We're in a risk area for some of those stronger storms, with strong wind, small hail, and torrential rain the primary threats. Remember, a severe thunderstorm is wind of 58 mph or higher, 1" hail or larger, or a tornado...we're not expecting any tornadoes but we'll monitor the damaging wind/hail chances. It'll be a cooler day with highs in the mid 70s, but plenty of energy for some storms to get going.

Monday looks like a much better day in comparison with clearing skies as the morning progresses. Expect sunny skies by the afternoon with high temps reaching the low 80s.

Stay tuned for more updates on tomorrow's thunderstorm threat!
