NYC Politician Wants Federal Vote On Immigration
NEW YORK (WCBS 880) - There is a lot on the docket for Congress as it goes through its lame duck session and one New York City politician wants to make sure immigration reform is on their to-do list.

Pro-immigration advocates say they want to make sure undocumented children who finish high school in the United States can live out their American dreams by creating a path towards citizenship.
New York City Comptroller John Liu asks, "Why would we make it difficult for young people to get their higher education?"
Liu wants Congress to vote on the DREAM Act before its new session starts in January.
"Here in New York City, we would reap tremendous benefits if we allow these young people to secure their educations because, after all, they will turn it right back around and contribute it to the economy of New York City," says Liu.
DREAM stands for Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors.
