Police say they all took place between April 28 and May 8. They say the suspect walks in to a store covering his face with his hand under his shirt pretending to have a gun and demands cash at the register.
The first attempted robbery happened at a Broadway Duane Reade on April 28. The second happened just a few blocks away at a Cosi also on Broadway two days later.
Then on May 6, police say the suspect tried to rob a Starbucks on 7 Avenue.
Two days after trying to rob that Starbucks, he got away with an unknown amount of money after robbing a 5 Avenue CVS on May 8, according to police.
That same day, the suspect also tried to rob a second Duane Reade, police said.
