NY Waterway Ferry Lines Clogged With Extra Passengers; Use Of Smartphone App Urged
JERSEY CITY, N.J. (CBSNewYork) - With PATH service being suspended today and NJ TRANSIT rail service limited, more commuters are using the ferries to cross the Hudson River.

To help the process go more smoothly, NY Waterway has suggested riders arrive early and use its smartphone app to buy tickets.
"This is the line for the tickets and then we have to go on the back of another line to catch whatever boat you're taking, probably another hour," one rider on Jersey City told WCBS 880 reporter Paul Murnane.
Up the river in Hoboken, things were easier for rider Christian Matia.
"I mean, they're doing the best they can. There's not a whole lot else that can be done right now unfortunately. I mean, they're working with what they got," he said.
Some said the ferry worked beautifully with far smaller crowds last week. But then today came along, with a lot more people trying to get to work, which one rider described as "not fun."
