Truck Fire Closes Northbound New York State Thruway In Nyack
NYACK, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- An accident involving a tractor-trailer shut down all northbound lanes of the Thruway in Rockland County during the morning rush hour Wednesday.
A truck hauling 5-gallon plastic bottles of water caught fire after hitting a disabled vehicle on Interstate 87 around 5:45 a.m. Wednesday between Exit 10 and Exit 11, according to state police.
The accident scene is located at the Franklin Street overpass just north of Exit 10.
The crash caused major traffic backups and northbound motorists were advised to seek alternate routes.
All four lanes were closed after the crash. They were all reopened by 10 a.m.
The truck driver suffered minor injuries.
Other details haven't been released by state police yet.
