NY Social Worker Stabbed During Home Visit
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (AP) -- Police said a New York social worker was in critical condition after being stabbed multiple times while visiting a client at his Westchester County home.
Frances Mortenson underwent surgery at Westchester Medical Center Wednesday night.
Police said the attack occurred while she was visiting Jamile Wilson at his White Plains apartment.
White Plains public safety police commissioner, David Chong, said Wilson called 911 around 11 a.m. Wednesday to report he had gotten into an argument with his social worker and was armed with a knife.
Police charged Wilson with second-degree attempted murder.
The 47-year-old Mortenson works as a social worker at St. Vincent's Hospital Center in Harrison.
It was not immediately clear if Wilson had retained a lawyer.
