NY Man Faces Charges In Ambulance Crash
VALLEY STREAM, N.Y. (AP) -- A Long Island driver who police said crossed into oncoming traffic and slammed into an ambulance was facing charges that he was high on drugs.
William Buffalin of Valley Stream was facing arraignment Friday in Nassau County District Court. He was charged with assault, possession of a controlled substance, driving while impaired, and marijuana possession. It was not clear if he was represented by an attorney.
Police said the crash happened shortly before 7 p.m. Thursday in Valley Stream.
The ambulance was taking a patient to a hospital. Police said two people in the ambulance suffered minor injuries, but they offered no other details.
